Teachers Pressie

Image
I made some gift mugs and boxes for the kids teachers The gifts were made using 2 sizes of Pillow Box Templates . You can find the template by Googling Pillow Box The mugs idea I found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHz2imz-F-4. I put a muffin wrapped in cellophane and tissue paper in the mugs and they have detachable charms hanging on the outside. The handbags are filled with jelly babies. I used all the usual Dies (Tim Holtz and Nellie Snellen) and used bits and bobs from my stash. I think they all turned out pretty well!!!!

Thank You Note

Image
I recently finished a course and made this as a little thank you to the Lecturer. the tutorial is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmM2SI9QK5w. The only thing I used different was I used the Tim Holtz File die .

Pokemon!!!

Image
My friend wanted  a Pokemon card for her son so I came up with this penny slider card..... The characters slide as you tilt the card to battle each other! They spin on weighted pennies and it is a quite effective kinetic card!

Its the Beano!!!

Image
My Dad used to read the Beano as a kid and when I was out shopping I came across Beano wrapping paper and turned it into this..... This is called an Explosion card and I found it here -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBNj7U8N70U . This is my first attempt but I think it has a lot of possibilities!!!!

A Wee Dram Or Two....

Image
Two friends asked me to make Fathers Day cards for them with a whiskey theme as they worked at the distilleries (Glenlivet and Macallen) and so I made these double fold cards.... I got the the tutorial for this kind of card here -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13rwZJg_C_Q  and just printed off images and the tartan found on Google.

Happy Anniversary

Image
My Mum and Dad love gardening so I themed their card around this As usual I found inspiration for this card on YouTube on this link  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA44EZ5z_Tg  and just put my twist on it!

A Quickie Birthday Card

Image
After my youngest daughter announced one of her best friends birthday was the next day this is what I came up with at short notice I found the tutorial here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN7uDfqtADA  and it easy to make yet quite impressive!

Hatbox 40th and Classy 50th

Image
I had two cards to make for a friend. The first I made was a hatbox card... I found the idea here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HksK0j9wIwA  and just added my own embellishments. The next card was a classy 50th and I found inspiration in my latest issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine I am pleased with the  butterflies  which are peel offs on acetate attached to coloured card and the edges were cut using Tim Holtz edge dies.

The Great Outdoors

Image
This card has an outdoors theme to it and yes I actually got the wood and feather from my garden! This type of  card is called a Step Card and works quite well to "frame" an image or embellishment.

Get Well Duck!

Image
To cheer my friend up I made this cute get well card using the Sketch Saturday layout ( see my links to go to web site). I used a Souffle stamp , Martha Stewart punches and a Cuttlebug Swirl embossing folder .

Pretty in Pink

Image
I found the sketch ( or layout) for this card while Googleing images for other projects As usual I used my Tim Holtz Dies and Nellie Snellen Dies . I found the poem online and printed it off. I stamped the background  and made the paper roses following this tutorial - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKBLPpAPp9c&feature=related

21st Birthday Wish

Image
I made this for a friend after seeing a similar card at this link- http://whitchcraft.blogspot.com/2010/10/double-tri-shutter-card-21st-birthday.html  and this is my version.... To get the swirl effect I used a Swirl Embossing Folder This style of card is called a Double Tri Fold card. This is a back view. The key was cut using a Tim Holtz Findings Die and the centre is cut using a   Nellie Snellen  Die . the flowers were cut with the T im Holtz Tattered  Flowers Die and then put through the Swirl Embossing  Folder .

Flowerpot

Image
My Nans birthday is coming up and she has green fingers so flowers are the natural choice... I cut a basic plant pot shape in beige card stock and shaded it  with Distress Inks .  I used Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Die to cut out the flowers and a Punch for the Butterflys. I cut the leaves free hand. I attached the flowers to a separate  oval card with glue dots and put  the butterflies into craft wire with a bead.   I finished off with Peel offs and a tag on the front of the flower pot. The pot stands up as  I attached another pot to the back  but just at the rim edge so the oval card slides in.
